Newsy Items on Monday's City Council Agenda
1. Public hearing on proposed increase to Water and Wastewater rates. A public notice was sent to all customers in late April and provided for a protest vote against the rate increase. In order to not allow the rates to increase, we would need to receive over 3,000 protest votes. To date, we have received about 300 protest votes.
2. Consider continuing hearing on Plaza Amistad to June 29, 2009.
3. Discussion of Santa Paula/Fillmore greenbelt amendments. The last time the City Council discussed this item, they requested additional information on the terms of other greenbelt agreements in the County and pros/cons on resolution versus ordinance greenbelt agreements.

You might want to expedite that creek dredging project, I just read where they are seeing change in the climate and are saying that it will be a very strong EL Nino year! Personally, we need the rain and I am looking forward to the epic ocean fishing that comes with El Nino! Has anyone thought about bringing in someone higher up the government food chain to look into CEDC? I am against this facility, but if they are going to build it why not scale it back, build it using all the modern "Green" advances possible? Instead of clay tiles for the roof use solar panels, how about a nice garden area so the residents can plant healthy vegetables?
You know what ever happened between CEDC and the city, is
a win win for all the citizens
of Santa Paula. We did not let
this social welfare landlord
dictate to us, what we should
have in our CITY OF SANTA PAULA!
IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!

Dont mean to burst your bubble but they got what they want. They are building and its not a win win for everyone in the city. There are enough high density apartments in this city that tax services as it is. Just ask the students and teachers at Glen City when all the kids from this project start goign there. All CEDC needs to do is wait for the right city council to dig their claws into this city again. Just watch.
